Wind Turbine Blade Inspection & Repair

Leading-edge erosion repair, lightning conductor checks and composite blade forensics onshore and offshore.

Blade defects reduce AEP and can trigger catastrophic failure. Our GWO- and IRATA-certified technicians descend blades to inspect leading edges, bond lines, and lightning protection systems. We carry out leading-edge tape replacement, gel-coat repairs, and structural composite patching — all documented with high-res imagery for asset managers. Offshore, we mobilise from Edinburgh within 24 hours.

/ Key Benefits

Offshore mobilisation within 24 hours from Port of Leith

Blade-specific composite repair technicians, not general rope access crews

Full inspection report with photographic blade mapping

Minimise downtime versus crane or platform methods

/ Frequently Asked

How often should blades be inspected?

Annual ground-and-drone inspection is standard. Detailed rope access blade inspection is recommended every 2–3 years, or immediately after lightning strike, icing event, or suspected impact.

Can you repair offshore without a jack-up vessel?

Yes. For many repairs our technicians transfer by CTV and ascend the tower internally. This avoids costly jack-up or jack-down vessel charter for minor-to-medium blade repairs.
