NDT Inspection (UT, MPI, DPI)
Non-destructive testing of welds, steel and structural assets at height and in confined spaces.
Welds crack. Steel corrodes. Lifting points degrade. Our PCN-qualified NDT inspectors use ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and dye penetrant inspection (DPI) to find defects before they fail. Because we combine NDT with rope access, we inspect flare stacks, bridge trusses, and offshore derricks without shutting down adjacent plant or erecting scaffold.
/ Key Benefits
PCN Level 2 UT, MPI, and DPI inspectors with rope access capability
No production shutdown for flare-stack or live-plant inspection
Digital reporting with defect sizing and Remaining Life Assessment
Compliant with BS EN ISO 17640, BS EN ISO 9934, and BS EN ISO 3452
/ Frequently Asked
What is the difference between UT and MPI?
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) detects internal flaws such as lack of fusion or slag inclusions by sending high-frequency sound through the material. Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) finds surface and near-surface cracks in ferromagnetic materials by magnetising the component and applying iron particles.
Can you inspect while the plant is live?
Often yes. Rope access allows us to reach the asset from outside the process envelope. We coordinate with your permit-to-work system and carry out live-line assessments where safe to do so.
